What is deep learning?

 What is deep learning?

1- first definition about deep learning

Deep learning constitutes a subset of machine learning that employs multi-layered neural networks, known as deep neural networks, to emulate the intricate decision-making abilities of the human brain. The majority of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in existence today rely on some form of deep learning.

In its strictest sense, a deep neural network (DNN) consists of three or more layers, though most DNNs have far more layers in practice. These networks undergo training using extensive datasets to recognize patterns, classify phenomena, assess probabilities, and make predictions and decisions. While a neural network with a single layer can provide useful approximations for predictions and decisions, the additional layers in a deep neural network refine and enhance the accuracy of these outcomes.

Deep learning powers a wide array of applications and services that enhance automation, executing analytical and physical tasks without human intervention. It underpins everyday conveniences like digital assistants, voice-controlled TV remotes, and credit card fraud detection, as well as emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles and generative AI.

2- second definition

Machine learning represents a branch of artificial intelligence that has the capability to learn autonomously, without direct programming by a human operator.
